Sleep is the bees ZZZZāz
That was a bad jokeā¦

Hey There,
Sleep, something I donāt get much of these days because of our little guy, is extremely important to our overall health and vitality. Ask any health expert and they will say sleep is the most important building block to having a long and fruitful life. Since I know our baby is going to wake me up at least twice a night, I needed to come up with ways to get better sleep quality with the hours I had available to me. Below, Iāll fill you in on why sleep is so crucial and what Iāve been doing to sleep like⦠well⦠a baby. (Also, I got you something for FREE below)

Why is Sleep so Important?
Thereās a whole book on why we sleep and itās importance (Properly Titled: Why We Sleep by: Matthew Walker, PhD) so Iām not going to go into all the science. But these are the top 3 reasons why you should be prioritizing your Zās:
Brain Boost: Sleep sharpens your mind, helping it process and store memories. A well-rested brain means clearer thoughts and better recall.
Body Repair: During sleep, your body goes into repair mode, fixing tissues and balancing hormones. This results in feeling healthier and making smarter food choices.
Mood Lifter: Quality sleep can elevate your mood and keep stress at bay. Skimp on it, and you might find yourself on an emotional roller coaster.
Why do so many of us have a hard time Sleeping?
According to the National Institutes of Health, 7% to 19% of adults reportedly do not get enough sleep, 40% reportedly fall asleep during the day at least once a month, and 50 to 70 million Americans have chronic sleep disorders.
Here are the top 3 reasons on why we keep dropping Zās instead of catching them:
Stress: Constant worries and overthinking make the brain hyperactive. It's tough to wind down and drift off when you're anxious.
Bad Sleep Setup: A hot room that's too noisy or bright disrupts sleep. And if you're guilty like me and are glued to screens before bedtime, you're in for a rough night.
Lifestyle Choices: Downing caffeine or munching on big meals late in the evening? They're not your friends at bedtime.
What Iām doing to sleep like a šŖØ
Iāve tried everything when it comes to getting great sleep. Iām no expert, but I think Iāve really dialed in on my night time routine that has helped me get better sleep quality and wake up ready to take on the day. Hereās what I do:
Setup Sanctuary: Transform your bedroom into a dedicated sleep sanctuary. Ensure it's dark, quiet, and cool; this trio sets the stage for a peaceful slumber.
Tech Timeout: Power down those screens a good hour before hitting the sack. Opt for a calming book or a soothing conversation to pave the way for rest.
Ritual Routine: Craft a consistent nightly routine that signals your body it's time to wind down. Think nighttime supplements or teas, a few pages of a calming book, or some deep, mindful breathing and a shower.
Speaking of night time supplements, one supplement that has really helped me in my night time routine has been New Mood from Onnit. It helps me wind down from a long day and get me in a more calm state and ready for bed.
It doesnāt make me sleepy like if I were to take melatonin, it just puts me in a zen mood and helps me get more restful sleep. It has some amazing ingredients like Chamomile Flower, Valerian Root, Lemon Balm, 5-HTP and Tryptophan. Best part, the folks at ONNIT are so confident you will love it, they are giving it to you for FREE. Yes, FREE! Just pay shipping.
