You might think you’re just “busy,” but your nervous system says otherwise. Chronic stress keeps your cortisol levels high, wrecking your sleep, metabolism, and mood. The fix? More parasympathetic activation, less fight-or-flight.
Simple ways to flip the switch: Deep belly breathing (inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 8), daily sunlight, and cutting caffeine after noon. And no, scrolling TikTok before bed doesn’t count as “unwinding.”
High stress isn’t a badge of honor. It’s burnout waiting to happen. Time to dial it down.
